Heather Feldman is a mom of three children (a daughter, 18, a son 15, and a daughter 13) who has been practicing yoga for over 25 years. Heather combines her love of working with children with her passion for yoga to create a dynamic practice that will cultivate good health and physical and mental wellness in her young yellow yoginis! Heather and her husband, Mark, met at Northwestern University, where she studied Speech and Language Pathology and worked with many children in speech therapy. After graduating, Heather moved to New York City and worked as a children’s book editor and writer, and has written over forty children’s books. Heather uses stories, games, and music to make the Yellow Yoga practice fun and energetic. A core focus for Heather is also working closely with child athletes who can greatly benefit from adding yoga to their physical activity and help prevent injuries to their young and growing bodies. It is Heather’s goal to have her students form a love of yoga that lasts a lifetime—so they can enjoy being flexible, happy, healthy adults! Heather received her Children’s Yoga Specialist certification with Little Friends Yoga in Seattle, Washington.
Yellow Yoga classes are offered in the greater Seattle area. One-time classes or ongoing classes can be scheduled at your child's school, boys and girls clubs, athletic clubs, with their sports team, or other children's playgroup. Parent and Me classes are also offered for preschoolers. Parent and Child Athlete classes are also offered. Classes can be during the day, after school, in the evening, or on the weekend.
Private or semi-private yoga classes are also available. Mats can be provided. Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling classes.

Yoga for Kid Athletes
Yellow Yoga focuses on getting all kids to practice and love yoga. For child athletes, adding yoga provides tremendous benefit to their physical training. Does your child play basketball, baseball, tennis, lacrosse, football or soccer? Do they do gymnastics, swim or run cross-country? For all of these athletic pursuits, yoga is an incredible addition to help build body and core strength. Breath work helps calm and center an athlete as well as increase lung capacity. Yoga postures help athletes with their range of motion. Yoga helps an athlete feel confident and proud. Yellow Yoga is non-competitive. This gives child athletes a much needed break from the competition they face both in school and in their sport. Yoga is a chance to get stronger and unwind!
If you are interested, Yellow Yoga can come work with your team or athlete, talk about the importance of taking good care of your body, and how yoga can not only make you stronger on the outside, but it can also make you stronger on the inside. Yellow Yoga will give athletes the tools to practice poses and stretches that help open their hips, strengthen their shoulders, glutes, core, hamstrings, quads, and helps to prevent injuries. Yellow Yoga birthday parties are unique, vibrant and fun! Children will enjoy basic and challenging yoga poses, creative breathing techniques, fun yoga games, partner poses, and some relaxation time so they are calm and ready for birthday cake! We include a jar of wishes for the birthday child and time to blow out their "candlesticks" as they head into savasana. Yellow Yoga birthday parties are fun, healthy, and memorable!
Yellow Yoga offers fun summer camps for boys and girls. Yoga poses, games, stories, art, and music. Yellow Yoga camps keep your kids active and engaged and are a great way to spend some fantastic summer days.
We are currently offering the following for Summer 2018:
*July 9th-13th--Yellow yoga camp at the Mercer Island Boys and Girls Club (PEAK) from 9:30am to 1pm. Ages 7-13. Campers should bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and lunch.
